Something to Believe<\/em><\/h3>\n

\"\"Singer and songwriter Ashley Heath grew up in Marshall and moved back there after attending Appalachian State University. \u201cWhen I moved back home, I decided music was the thing I wanted to put my life into,\u201d Heath says, \u201cand I\u2019m so lucky and glad I decided to make that move. It\u2019s been a beautiful journey, and I\u2019ve had some incredible experiences so far.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heath has just released her debut album with Organic Records, an EP titled Something to Believe<\/em> that is entirely self-written, arranged and produced. She describes her music as soul Americana\u2014with \u201ca bit of bluesy, country and rock flavors to it,\u201d and says that home has had a heavy influence on her writing and style. \u201cMadison County is rich in artists and songwriters, and I\u2019ve had a very supportive community that has always pushed me to keep playing,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

She calls \u201cI Remember\u201d her favorite song on the album. \u201cI wrote that song about remembering the good in other people and situations,\u201d Heath says. \u201cIt\u2019s so hard to rewire our brain to focus on gratitude and the blessings we have in our life instead of the hard stuff. I want to create a life that I\u2019m proud of and that makes me happy. Also, remembering that hard times don\u2019t last forever. One of the lines in the songs says, \u2018It\u2019s just a bad day, not a bad life.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
