For Kristen Edge, art has always been a way to communicate ideas that could not be expressed fully with words alone. \u201cI think we come into the world as expressive beings full of creative capacities,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

Almost exactly one and a half years ago, Kristen opened the collaborative arts studio and gallery ArtPlay, where she offers people of all ages a place to create, learn and connect. \u201cWatching people reconnect with their innate creative capacities has been absolutely joyful,\u201d she says. \u201cI witness people letting go and trusting their own process, where they aren\u2019t thinking about whether something is good.\u201d Edge gives her students permission to be imperfect. \u201cYou can only get to your own creative expression by letting go of judgement,\u201d she says. \u201cI believe play is the thing that gets us there.\u201d<\/p>\n
