TIP Volunteers are called by law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel to respond to scenes of sudden or unexpected death (natural, homicide, suicide, accidental, infant), industrial accidents, sexual assaults, overdoses, violent crime, and other traumatic incidents.<\/p>\n<p>Tip of WNC volunteers must attend continuing education meetings held on the third Monday of each month, as well as meet other basic requirements. There is a $45 registration fee to confirm a spot in the class.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fingerprinting &amp; Background Check Through TIP<\/li>\n<li>Successful Completion of ALL Training Sessions<\/li>\n<li>Valid Driver&#8217;s License &amp; Vehicle<\/li>\n<li>Clean Driving Record<\/li>\n<li>Proof of Auto Insurance<\/li>\n<li>Cell Phone (with Texting)<\/li>\n<li>Internet &amp; Email Access<\/li>\n<li>GPS Navigation System<\/li>\n<li>Three 12-hour Shifts a Month<\/li>\n<li>Attend Mandatory Monthly Continuing Education Meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Fall 2023 Training Academy Dates <em>(all dates are required)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thursday <em>9<\/em>\/28 6 pm &#8211; 10 pm<\/li>\n<li>Friday <em>9<\/em>\/29 6 pm &#8211; <em>9 <\/em>pm<\/li>\n<li>Saturday <em>9<\/em>\/30 <em>9 <\/em>am &#8211; 5 pm<\/li>\n<li>Sunday 10\/1 <em>9 <\/em>am &#8211; 3 pm<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday 10\/3 6 pm &#8211; <em>9 <\/em>pm<\/li>\n<li>Thursday 10\/5 6 pm &#8211; 10 pm<\/li>\n<li>Friday 10\/6 6 pm &#8211; 10 pm<\/li>\n<li>Saturday 10\/7 <em>9 <\/em>am &#8211; 3 pm<\/li>\n<li>Monday 10\/16 (CE) 6 pm &#8211; <em>9 <\/em>pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>To register or for more information, call 828.513.0498 or visit <a href=\"http:\/\/TIPofWNC.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TIPofWNC.org<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Trauma Intervention Program of Western North Carolina (TIP of WNC) is now recruiting new volunteers to serve in Buncombe and Henderson Counties.
