First and second-graders at Wortham’s Creative Arts Camp<\/p><\/div>\n

The Wortham Center for the Performing Arts has announced its 2025 summer schedule of Creative Arts Camps, opportunities for rising 1st through 5th grade students to experience a week of hands-on immersion in theater, music and the visual arts. \u201cThis summer, our camp is bursting with creativity, hands-on fun and artistic adventure,\u201d says Sharvis Smith, Wortham\u2019s education and engagement director. \u201cEach themed week invites campers to explore a different imaginative world where they\u2019ll create, perform and discover through the arts.\u201d<\/p>\n

For rising 1st and 2nd graders, a Performing Arts Camp will take place June 23-27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. \u201cCampers will time travel through history, exploring artistic styles and various arts disciplines across the ages,\u201d says Smith. The campers will explore core concepts of acting, music and movement through fun, interactive activities in preparation for a short performance at the end of the week.<\/p>\n

A Creative Arts Camp for the same age group will take place from July 14-18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. \u201cIt\u2019s off to a land of magical creatures where imagination knows no bounds\u2014every idea sparks a new adventure, and every creation tells a story,\u201d says Smith.<\/p>\n

A Performing Arts Camp for rising 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will take place July 7-11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. \u201cCampers will dive into the world of storytelling, putting creative twists on classic tales and crafting original stories through art, drama and movement,\u201d says Smith.<\/p>\n

A Creative Arts Camp for this age group will take place July 21-25, also from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. \u201cYoung agents-in-training will crack secret codes, solve creative mysteries and unleash their inner artist-agents in a week full of intrigue and invention,\u201d says Smith.<\/p>\n
