The National Forest Foundation (NFF), the official nonprofit partner of the U.S. Forest Service, announces the 7th annual National Forest Week<\/a> taking place June 9\u201315. This nationwide celebration invites all Americans to explore, appreciate, and support the 193 million acres of national forests and grasslands where we come alive.<\/p>\n

There are 154 National Forests and 20 National Grasslands across the United States, and 7\u00a0 in 10 Americans live within a two-hour drive of a National Forest or Grassland. In most cases, these spaces are free to access and far less crowded than National Parks.<\/p>\n

\u201cNational Forest Week celebrates the unmatched outdoor experiences found in our national forests. \u00a0From hiking, biking, and hunting to fishing, paddling, and camping, these 193 million acres offer something for everyone,\u201d says\u00a0 Dieter Fenkart-Froeschl, President & CEO of the National Forest Foundation. \u201cThis summer, we invite all Americans to get outside, explore their public lands, and join the National Forest Foundation in caring for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout National Forest Week\u2122, the NFF and local partners are hosting a variety of community events to engage the public in outdoor recreation and stewardship.<\/p>\n
