Veronica Kattermann<\/p><\/div>\n

In September, Sweeten Creek Antiques & Collectibles will celebrate 20 years serving Asheville in its location at the edge of Biltmore Village. Owner Veronica Kattermann is an Asheville native and returned to her hometown after graduating from UNC-Greensboro.<\/p>\n

\u201cI grew up immersed in the world of antiquing and thrifting,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s more than a business to me\u2014it is a deeply rooted way of life. I believe antiquing is the original green industry. Long before sustainability became a trend, those of us who cherished the past were already honoring it by giving items a second, third or even fourth life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Honoring the origins and past lives of the objects she sells ranks foremost in Kattermann\u2019s mind. \u201cOpening this shop was never just about selling antiques\u2014it was about creating a space where history breathes, where stories live on and where people of all generations can reconnect with the beauty of craftsmanship and memory,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

Sweeten Creek Antiques & Collectibles is located at 115 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville.
