Described by The New York Times as “Second City-seasoned masters of long form improv”\, TJ Jagodowski and David Pasquesi have become living legends in their field. \nDo not miss this! \nThe comics TJ Jagodowski and Dave Pasquesi miraculously improvise a one-hour play at every performance. This is an impressive feat of mental athletics\, but the results are also observant\, complex and frequently enormously funny.– The New York Times \n“BRILLIANT\, HEARTBREAKING\, MIND-BLOWING\, INSPIRING! The best 50 minutes of improv comedy that we’ve ever seen. But we wouldn’t want to insult their effusive skills by speaking so simplistically. Also\, it’s funny. Drink their Kool-Aid.” – Time Out New York \n“TJ Jagodowski and Dave Pasquesi\, two of the world’s finest practitioners of the art of long-form improv\, create an hour long one-act play. SUMMARY:George Trouble & The Zealots-"Entanglement"-Release Party/Bob Dylan's 85th Birthday
DESCRIPTION:George Trouble & The Zealots are delighted to return to the Grey Eagle for a double-headed show on Sunday\, May 24th at The Grey Eagle. In addition to the release of their 6th album\, “Entanglement”\, GT & The Zealots reprise the tradition of celebrating Bob Dylan’s birth. Hurricane Helene stymied the production process of “Entanglement” as well as eliminating the possibilty of a Dylan show in 2025. In an ironic twist\, the two events have come together in a happy confluence-partially as a result of the chaos that reigned down upon the French Broad River in Fall 2024. The band includes longtime partner Aaron Price-keys\, Zack Page-bass\, and Evan Martin-drums (The Honeycutters). It’s gonna be one for the books!

SUMMARY:Grayson Capps with special guest Corky Hughes
DESCRIPTION:Southern troubadour Grayson Capps performs his signature mix of country\, rock\, folk and blues with slide guitar master Corky Hughes at The Grey Eagle! \nHeartbreak\, Misery & Death is the seventh studio album by beloved Alabama-based troubadour Grayson Capps. For this latest effort\, Capps turned his attention to 16 long-lost folk songs and traditionals performed by artists ranging from Doc Watson and Jerry Jeff Walker to Randy Newman and Gordon Lightfoot. Introduced to these timeless touchstones as a child by his father\, they’d catalyze Capps’ love for music at a young age\, while informing the Southern Gothic vernacular that he’s gone onto so eloquently explore and reimagine in his own body of work. \nAs Capps explains in his own words: \nI grew up with music\, whether hearing Fred Stokes\, Bobby Long and my dad\, Ronnie Capps\, singing around the house on Fridays and Saturdays\, or listening to vinyl records in the den\, my youth seemed to always be surrounded with music. One of the first artists I gravitated toward was Doc Watson. I first found my own voice by emulating him singing “Wake Up Little Maggie.” We had The Essential Doc Watson and Doc Watson Memories\, and I wore those records out. “Columbus Stockade Blues” was one of the first songs I learned to play on the guitar.

SUMMARY:Buffalo Rose at The Grey Eagle
DESCRIPTION:Buffalo Rose\, a wildly charismatic six-piece modern folk/Americana band\, plays an all-ages concert at The Grey Eagle! \nBUFFALO ROSE takes the singer-songwriter tradition to a new level by crafting original songs which are emotive\, meticulously arranged\, and inspired by a world of idiosyncratic influences that never let a dull or predictable moment creep in. \nThis combination of artistry and enthusiasm makes Buffalo Rose one of the most vital and important groups working today. Rather than play the folk music of the past\, the band gleefully combines genres and ideas together to move acoustic music forward to a new\, contemporary place without ever losing sight of its roots. Fans of Lake Street Dive\, Nickel Creek\, and Punch Brothers will find much to like in this crew. Anyone seeking compelling new acoustic music needs to join Buffalo Rose in the future right now.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more enjoyable show.”-Buzzfeed \nJoe grew up in Morgantown\, West Virginia\, and started his comedy career in North Carolina shortly after graduating Davidson College (where obviously\, he was an English major). While starting out in the South\, he launched a tour with three friends\, called “The Beards of Comedy” and landed a record deal with Comedy Central Records. In 2012\, he moved to New York City\, quickly appearing on The Late Late Show and John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show\, as well as Montreal’s Just for Laughs festival. His resume has since grown to include The Tonight Show\, Conan\, Nickelodeon\, Last Comic Standing\, and his own Comedy Central Half Hour\, and the Comedy Cellar’s topical show\, “This Week at the Comedy Cellar”. Joe’s first solo album Smiling at Wolves (2014) reached number two on the iTunes comedy charts\, and shortly after Paste Magazine named him one of 10 best comedians from the south. His second album\, Innocence\, came out on Comedy Central Records (2018) and is played regularly on Sirius XM radio\, and in 2019 he recorded a dry bar special with upwards of million views on YouTube. His first\, fully produced one-hour comedy special “Cult Classic”\, is set to come out in 2023\, directed by Nate Bargatze and produced by 800 Pound Gorilla. \nAside from headlining comedy clubs\, he tours regularly in theaters and arenas with comedy legend Brian Regan and rising super-star Nate Bargatze. \nJoe has also contributed humor writing to The New York Times and The New Yorker\, and has appeared on numerous podcasts and radio\, including 2 Dope Queens\, The Scientists\, Dork Forest\, StarTalk\, Bob Tom\, The Todd Barry Podcast\, and The Artie Lange Show. \nJIM TEWS\nJim Tews was born and raised in Allentown\, Pennsylvania. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard after high school and was stationed in Cleveland where he started stand-up comedy. After completing his enlistment\, he studied Film Production at Cleveland State University. He continued performing standup while in college\, often to the detriment of his grades. In 2011\, after finally finishing college\, he moved to New York City to work as a comedian and writer. When the pandemic hit\, while stuck inside\, Jim taught himself to animate. He currently works as an independent animator and writer and is again regularly leaving the house to perform standup.
