From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 28–29, the artists and craftspeople who call Kenilworth home will open the doors of their studios and welcome members of the public to stop by, chat, and see demonstrations of some amazing creative talent.
In this charming neighborhood known for its hills and gullies, works by 17 artists showing in 14 locations will include paintings, pottery, woodcraft, hand-shaped tiles, sculpture, fashion wear, and jewelry, among other treasures.
A tour stop this year, the Harvest House, located at 205 Kenilworth Road, is community recreational center that has been serving the neighborhood for more than 50 years. The center offers a variety of programs for adults of all ages including classes in furniture making, clay sculpture, weaving, and mosaic glass, in addition to other community activities.
A Kenilworth Art Studio Tour brochure (containing a listing of each artist and a map of the studio locations) will be available throughout May at the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce, 36 Montford Avenue, The Harvest House, and in stores and inns across Asheville. You can also download this year’s tour map and other helpful information at kenilworthartists.org.
