Artists David and Molly Sharp Voorhees, along with Rev. Posy Jackson, Rev. Lyndon Harris, and some other friends are hosting Solstice Arts, a two-day arts and crafts event June 18–19 at Tigg’s Pond Retreat Center in Zirconia. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, and is free and open to the public.
The hosts have invited more than a dozen artists who will have a wide range of works on display and offered for sale.
David will present an assortment of his stoneware and porcelain pottery, and Molly will be exhibiting her latest creations in sterling silver and her popular beach pebble jewelry. Other artists include: Jane Voorhees (watercolors and pastels), Cheryl Stippich (stained glass and jewelry), Susan Voorhees (pastel and oil paintings), Saundra Poces (pottery), Matthew Waldrop (forged metalwork), LaRue Downing (furniture), Cathy Langdon (handwoven items), Honey Burrell (pottery) Meredith Burns (jewelry), Walt Cottingham (birdhouses), Shirley Walsh (photography), and Mark Gardner (wood bowls).
For added fun, there will be caricatures by Randy Molton and a music pickin’ parlor hosted by Lyndon Harris (bring your instruments!). There will also be Yoga Fun with Sandy Lastein and a variety of craft demonstrations.
