Thistle Dew: Rhodyjane Meadows, Annie Jo Buchanan, & Laura Laughridge
One of a Kind Art Gallery (OOAK) and the adjacent coffeehouse Maples in Micaville will present Thistle Dew in concert at the gallery from 7–9 p.m. on Thursday, June 2.
Based near the Tennessee/North Carolina border, Thistle Dew embraces both Appalachian and Celtic music. By blending the two, they have created a new genre of music the group has dubbed “Celtalachian.”
From 7–9 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, OOAK and Maples are hosting Sam McKinney and Rhonda Gouge. Sam is a singer and guitarist from Spruce Pine whose repertoire includes both traditional and contemporary music. He will be joined by Rhonda Gouge, a music teacher from Ledger. Sam and Rhonda often perform together, entertaining their audiences with everything from bluegrass and swing to classic country and blues.
There is a suggested donation of $5 for each concert.
OOAK Art Gallery is located four miles east of Burnsville at 573 Micaville Loop in Micaville. For more information, visit ooakartgallery.com or call 828.675.0690.
