Four Opportunities to Experience AmiciMusic’s “Cello Charm”

Award-winning chamber music organization AmiciMusic will present a program of music for cello and piano titled “Cello Charm,” Friday through Sunday, September 9–11. Featured guest artist is cellist Eric Kutz, who will collaborate with pianist Daniel Weiser on music by Mendelssohn, Barber, Balakirev, and Cassadó. In addition to serving as AmiciMusic’s artistic director, Daniel has performed in concerts around the world and earned his doctorate in piano and chamber music from the Peabody Conservatory.

Eric is a member of the Murasaki Duo with pianist Miko Kominami. Together, they performed at Carnegie Hall and their latest release, Duo Virtuoso, won the 2016 Listeners’ Choice Award from The Violoncello Foundation. Eric has entertained audiences across North America and Europe and his collaborations cut across musical styles and include cellist Yo-Yo Ma and jazz great Ornette Coleman. A teacher, chamber musician, orchestral musician, and concerto soloist, Eric serves as faculty at the University of Maryland School of Music. He has appeared on stages with the New York Philharmonic and Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra.
