Shop Talk: Three Rivers Gallery

John-Marc and Janice Gallagher

Janice and John-Marc Gallagher lived out west and in Central America before relocating to Bryson City in 2019. The two met while working in the hotel industry in Arizona. Subsequent business enterprises included real estate, property management, construction and a bilingual international school. In Bryson City, they managed a small inn in town and traveled before purchasing Gallery Zella from a friend who had run it for 10 years. They renamed the space Three Rivers Gallery.

“We have traveled a great deal, collected art and love people so this was a perfect fit,” Janice says. “The building is in the heart of downtown and is in the old First Citizens Bank building which is a beautiful historic building. We have re-invented the gallery to our style, brought in several new artists, added daily wine tastings and created some fun community events.” They want visits to the gallery to be fun and welcoming for the community, such as regular Meet the Artists Afternoons. The next one, highlighting artists Jon Houglum and Allyson Gernandt, will be Saturday, December 19.

Three Rivers Gallery is located at 166 Everett Street, Bryson City. Learn more at ThreeRiversGallery.com and follow on Facebook (ThreeRiversGalleryNC) and Instagram @threeriversgallery.
