2024 MountainTrue Nolichucky BioBlitz in Erwin, TN
June 1, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

Each year, MountainTrue hosts a BioBlitz to record all the species we can find in a given area. We identify and catalog organisms using the online app iNaturalist. The BioBiltz this year will be on June 1st in Erwin, TN.
Our 2024 Bioblitz will focus on the Nolichucky. The Nolichucky is known to have a diverse flora and interesting faunal assemblage, including rare fish, mussels, and hellbenders. It also has a great diversity of terrestrial ecosystems that are not well explored. These include river scour communities, rock outcrops, boulderfields, and shale slope woodlands, in addition to more common forest types characteristic of the region.
Options for Participating:
1. Feel like floating the Nolichucky River with experts for a unique, hands-on experience? Sign up for the water-based BioBlitz and spend the day on the river, stopping for lunch midday.
