ABCs presents 50 Years Viola da Gamba!

Asheville Baroque Concerts’ artistic director, Gail Ann Schroeder, presents a milestone recital commemorating her 50th year of dedication to the viola da gamba––an elegant, bowed instrument that flourished during the Renaissance and Baroque eras. As a celebrated virtuoso, educator, and champion of early music, Schroeder has captivated audiences throughout Europe and the USA. This anniversary performance offers an intimate look into her lifelong musical journey, featuring some of her favorite repertoire that has shaped her distinguished career. She will be joined by Daniel Swenberg, theorbo, and Barbara Weiss, harpsichord, for a program of masterworks by Diego Ortiz, G.P. Telemann, Marin Marais, Antoine Forqueray, and more.
