Secret Monkey Weekend + The Trick Threat

August 9, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$12 – $15

All-ages show! Secret Monkey Weekend + The Trick Threat take the Citizen Vinyl stage on Friday, August 9, 6 p.m. doors and 7 p.m. show. $12 advance / $15 at the door.

SECRET MONKEY WEEKEND: Fresh from an Emmy win for their role in the PBS NC feature on the family and band, Secret Monkey Weekend are a trio composed of two sisters and their father who play in a style reminiscent of power pop, 80’s Southern Jangle, with classic 60’s rock undercurrents. Their 2022 debut, produced by REM / Smithereens producer Don Dixon, captured the ears and hearts of indie radio and streaming playlists across the U.S. and Europe. They have played extensively throughout the South and MidAtlantic in ‘22-’23 supporting The Connells, Southern Culture On The Skids, and alumni of Pylon, and Fetchin Bones, and The dB’s.

THE TRICK THREAT is out with its brand of alt pop rock originals. The band takes an approach to music that focuses on delivering inventive songs with artistic simplicity. Co-founded by lead singer Alana Flowers Gibson and bassist Glenn Gibson, their influences include the Beatles and the Eagles, while also incorporating modern indie pop-rock sounds in the vein of Spoon, Tennis, and Wilco. They’re continuously exploring new ways to expand their style and sound.
