The Forest Dwellers: Chinobay, River Guerguerian, and Scott Sheerin

The Forest Dwellers are an eclectic all-star improvisational trio who take listeners on a cosmic musical journey by playing ephemeral music, grounded in eternal groove. This newly formed improvisational music trio consists of three artists whose names most Ashevillians already know: Chinobay, River Guerguerian, and Scott Sheerin.
Chinobay is an internationally esteemed musician from Uganda. For more than two decades, Chinobay has built a remarkable career as a performer, composer, educator, and cultural ambassador. Rooted in the traditions of East Africa and shaped by his experiences across more than 70 countries, his music creates meaningful connections between cultures while remaining deeply personal and authentic. He embodies the ancestral spirits of his homeland with his velvety smooth voice and the unique sounds of traditional Ugandan instruments -kora, endongo, kalimba, and balufon- which he plays with virtuosity and soul.
River Guerguerian is an extraordinary award-winning percussionist who flies between worlds on wings of rhythm and time while weaving together layers of sonic texture from his unique hybrid drumset, deep shell frame drums, rattles and shakers, bells and gongs, Middle Eastern hand drums, and handpans.
Scott Sheerin is a healing artist, dream tender, and ceremonial land steward. He takes his inspiration from birds while playing various wind instruments: flutes, saxophones, bass clarinet, and wind synth. Music is the vehicle by which he rides the flow of the human heart and the mysterious subtle realms that permeate the universe.
They come together in the spirit of total presence with the NOW, creating unique improvisational sets that arise like the wind and the water and are never the same thing twice.
Come, bring your best friends and your best self to share the evening of November 20 with them at AyurPrana Listening Room in West Asheville.
