Clothes Mentor co-owners Andrea Bryson and David Huebner met 23 years ago. “I was a flight attendant, and David was a contractor in Lake Tahoe,” Andrea says. She studied fashion in college before being picked up by a headhunter in California to work for high-end companies Bloomingdale’s and Eileen Fisher. Eventually, the couple decided to leave the big-city hustle for something slower paced. “We left California in an RV and ended up in West Asheville, where I picked up a part-time job at Clothes Mentor,” Andrea says.
Asheville was meant to be a temporary stop, but three months after arriving, the couple learned that Clothes Mentor was for sale. “The shop wasn’t up to its full potential when we purchased it, but is now thriving,” Andrea says. “I couldn’t be more thankful for my amazingly wonderful staff.”
