Art Opening for Ursula Gullow at London District Studios
Visual artist Ursula Gullow says her paintings explore the relationship between organic and manufactured things. Her latest body of work, “Confetti,” is a series of mixed-media pieces that explore landscapes, color, and gesture. It is on display June 10 through July 5 at London District Studios, 8 London Road in Asheville. Ursula says, “The paintings are created in short bursts of inspiration over long periods of time. I heap, layer, and smear the paint to build up corporeal forms, mounds, and conglomerations.”
A reception will take place on Friday, June 10, from 5–10 P.M. Then, on Saturday, June 11, from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M., Ursula will lead an all-levels painting and mixed-media workshop at the Studios.
