Spectrum and Line Exhibitions at Blue Spiral 1

Two new group exhibits at Blue Spiral 1 share a special focus on the fundamental elements of art and design. Both are open now and will run through August 26.

Spectrum, an invitational exhibit in Gallery Two, features works by 12 artists. The title references the wide variety of media chosen by the artists: paintings, original prints, glass sculptures, painted wood, resin, and cast crayon mosaics—all in a festival of color.

The artists specially chosen for this exhibit are B.J. Alumbaugh, Alex Bernstein, Christian Faur, Jamie Harris, Stoney Lamar, Emily Leonard, Carrie McGee, Will Penny, Stephen Rolfe Powell, Robert Stephan, Scott Upton, and Paul Yanko.

Line, the group exhibition in Gallery One on the lower level of Blue Spiral 1, showcases works by ten artists who utilize strong linear elements in their representational and abstract works that range from wire animal drawings to kinetic sculpture, ceramics, paintings, prints, and forged steel.

Blue Spiral 1, 38 Biltmore Avenue, is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. For further information, visit bluespiral1.com or call 828.251.0202.
