On Friday, December 2, from 5–8 p.m., Asheville Gallery of Art will host an opening reception for its newest group exhibition, Winter Magic. The show features work by 20 artists and will run through January. “An Asheville Gallery of Art member show is a wonderful opportunity for the community to sample the wide vision and skills offered by the gallery members,” says Patricia Veach, who will be showing her painting A Road Less Traveled in the exhibition. “The contrasting yet complementary visions of a group show provide an energy that most solo shows cannot create.”
Bee Adams will be presenting her painting Moonrise Over Telluride at the Winter Magic show. “My piece was painted from an experience in Telluride, Colorado watching the full moon rise over the snowy mountains,” she says. “The glow of the moon and resulting colors of the snow were captivating and magical. I love the strong graphics of nature itself and wanted to express the simple beauty of the moment.”
Zoe F. Schumaker will have two works in the show: Winter Finch and Wolf Moon. “This show will include a variety of small, seasonally inspired works by AGA’s diverse artists,” she says. “Visitors will enjoy the many different interpretations of the Winter Magic theme by our creative artist community, as well as the diverse styles and media.”
