Wood Berry Gallery, a contemporary art and fine craft gallery in downtown Saluda, represents a dozen craftspersons from WNC, Upstate SC and beyond. Their mediums include glass, wood, ceramic and jewelry.

“As a new gallery, we endeavor to connect the public with art,” says Wood Berry’s co-owner Mark Holland, “so we are constantly finding new creators and giving them the support they need to continue producing their work.”

Bernard Edwards’ wood-carved folk art depicts area wildlife including elegantly carved swans and other birds, colorful trout and bluegills, and whimsical foxes, rabbits and hound dogs. Sally Prangley uses wire, paper and other materials to create baskets, jewelry and sculptural purses and boxes. Woodturner Tom Leazenby makes everything from decorative and functional bowls and wood and ceramic wall clocks to live edge furniture. Works in clay include Blue Fire MacMahon’s hand-built birds, owls, horses and humans, and whimsical sculptures with a functional element by Lisa Hager.

“Each of our artists stands out due to the uniqueness of their talent and work and the special vision and spirituality in what they do,” says Holland.

Wood Berry also represents Ben Greene-Colonnese, Ann Gleason, Christine Henry, Janet Leazenby, Robert Milnes, Summer Merritt and Tamela Wells.

Wood Berry Gallery is at 66 East Main Street, Saluda. Learn more by visiting WoodBerryGallery.net or calling 828.769.9034.
