The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a month will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted. Please allow up to 5 days for your even to be posted. Get ready for a howlin’ good time at the 22nd Annual HowlOWeen Pet Parade in Black Mountain! This year, the festivities are even more special as we’re wagging our tails to support Rusty’s Legacy. Whether your furry friend struts their stuff or joins you in a matching costume, this is the purr-fect event to celebrate the spookiest season. The parade begins at 3 ant the Town Square and is FREE.
Want the spotlight? Registration for costume contest 1:30-2:30. For just $8, enter the costume contest with two fun categories: “Pets Only” or “Pets & Their People.” With local gift certificates, cash prizes, and the grand prize selected by audience cheers, it’s a day you won’t want to miss.
