Discover Urban Glory: An Insider’s Artful Journey into Allan Rohan Crite’s World
Travel to Boston’s vibrant art scene for a virtual exploration of Allan Rohan Crite: Urban Glory, a long-overdue retrospective honoring one of America’s most important artists. More than a painter, Crite was a historian, storyteller, and elder statesman of Boston’s African American community, capturing everyday neighborhood life alongside deeply spiritual themes. Led by art historian and curator Julianna Caro—who worked on this exhibition as a curatorial consultant—this morning lecture offers rare, behind-the-scenes insight into Crite’s life, legacy, and enduring impact. Join us for an inspiring discussion, meaningful connection, and light refreshments at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts.
