The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a month will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted. Please allow up to 5 days for your even to be posted. A performance that weaves myriad strands of world music, contemporary pop, sacred sounds and introspective song craft into a mesmerizing musical experience. Come be in celebration as we share sound vibration in community, open our voices, and dance!
Donna De Lory is a singer, songwriter and producer whose artistry encompasses pop, electronic, world and devotional music. Her voice has graced recordings by Bette Midler, Carly Simon, Leonard Cohen, Selena, Belinda Carlisle and many others. Between 1987 and 2006, De Lory crisscrossed the globe numerous times as a touring back-up vocalist and dancer for Madonna. Her own music is heard by 100,000 Spotify listeners a month and has garnered more than 10 million streams across several digital platforms. Now-classic Donna De Lory albums like The Lover and the Beloved, Sky is Open, Sanctuary and Gone Beyond have become the soundtrack for the global yoga/mindfulness movement.
Donna’s most recent album, Sing to the Light is an album of profound beauty and serenity. Gorgeously layered vocals are interwoven with lilting guitar melodicism and atmospheric keyboards, taking the listener on a gentle voyage into light, wellness, wholeness and harmony. Her latest single release is “Om Namah Shivaya/Thy Will Be Done”, a meditative track featuring Kirtan singer Krishna Das.
