The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a month will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted. Please allow up to 5 days for your even to be posted. Everyone loves dads doing jokes! Lucky for you these are professional comedians giving you more laughs than groans. Comics on the show do standup with pictures to illustrate their sets!!
Wednesday June 11, 7:30-9p in The Orange Peel’s comedy basement. PULP is a bourbon speakeasy (400+ varieties) located under the iconic stage. No food is served but we do have free snacks while they last and outside food is permitted (no drinks of any kind).

Headliner Ryan Cox is a touring stand-up comedian based in Asheville, NC. Ryan’s relaxed delivery weaves twisted storytelling with crafted one-liners and unique observations on our ever-changing world. Ryan has performed up and down the East Coast, from Comedy Key West to Bomb Shelter Comedy in NYC. He’s opened for Reggie Watts, Sean Patton and Jessimae Peluso. Ryan hosts Home Planet with Ryan Cox, a weekly podcast that explores the creative process through conversations with comedians, musicians and artists from all walks of life.
