The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a month will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted. Please allow up to 5 days for your even to be posted. Demystifying Plumbing Part 2: Drain, Waste, Vent

Are you interested in building the skills and confidence to tackle your home plumbing issues? Join us for part 2 of our 3 part plumbing series: Demystifying Plumbing! This series will take a deep dive into home plumbing beginning with Part 1: Hot & Cold Water Supply, moving on to Part 2: Drain Waste Vent Plumbing, and ending with Part 3: Water Heaters. Join for one, two, or all three workshops. Each workshop in the series will be posted as an individual event.
Demystify residential plumbing and learn all about drain, waste, and vent plumbing through hands on assembly using a mock-up bathroom. Participants will gain the skills to measure, cut, fit, and glue PVC drain lines, learn standard rules and reasoning behind different components and dimensions, and leave with a better understanding of what happens when liquids and solids go “away” down the drain.
