$85
At this one-day collaborative workshop between the Asheville Art Museum and Asheville Museum of Science, campers will observe and interpret the natural world from the microscopic to the landscape scale, and practice using tools and techniques from microscopes to impressionistic landscape painting.
Campers who are currently in Third through Fifth Grades are eligible for this one-day workshop held on a teacher in-service day for Asheville City and Buncombe County Schools. Campers will spend half the day at the art museum and the other half at the science museum. At the art museum the campers will visit the galleries and create art in the Studio. At the science museum the campers will explore exhibits and make observations in the STEAM lab using microscopes and hand lenses.
Campers will be walked between the art museum at 2 South Pack Square and the science museum at 43 Patton Ave. Detailed drop off and pick up instructions will be emailed to you within a few days of the camp date. Aftercare is available at Asheville Museum of Science from 3:30 – 5:00 pm with separate registration.
