FASHION / PUPPET SHOW: How do we disappear yet still be seen?
March 14, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free
The Swannatopia Experimental Art Club will host a FASHION / PUPPET show on Friday, March 14th at BMCM+AC, featuring an improvised live scored orchestra, “river runway,” and a lineup of wearables exploring the theme: “How can we disappear but still be seen?”
This closing party will celebrate the exhibition DEER FREAKS…and decoys, located downstairs at BMCM+AC. DEER FREAKS…and decoys is a multi-media, multi-layered project of Swannatopia responding to The Farm at Black Mountain College exhibition. The installation at BMCM+AC explores the hyper-natural forces of attraction and repulsion informing our interactions with the landscapes we inhabit. From fence rows to scare-crows, DEER FREAKS documents the creative ways people propagate, shape, lure, and protect in their environments.
Bring binoculars and sunglasses to participate in “birding” during the show. Wear your finest deer / duck / turkey / moth / forest outfits and accessories. Want to join the runway and become part of this fashion experiment? Reach out to Swannatopia at swannatopia [@] gmail, or via their Instagram.
