The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a month will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted. Please allow up to 5 days for your even to be posted. Heads, Hearts, and Hands in Bloom: A Family Workshop

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with creativity, connection, and color at Hearts & Hands in Bloom, a joyful family art workshop led by beloved artist Tommy Simpson. Parents and children will work side by side to create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind bouquet—an artwork made together and meant to be treasured. 🌸
This hands-on experience goes beyond the studio: participants will also explore Tommy’s whimsical exhibition in the BMCA Art Gallery and have the chance to talk with the artist about his imaginative process and playful creations. It’s a perfect way to slow down, make something meaningful, and share a memorable Valentine’s experience as a family.
All supplies are provided. Children must be at least 7 years old and accompanied by an adult. Advance registration is required, and space is limited—sign up early to save your spot!
