If you would like to submit an event to appear in our online Community Events Calendar, please visit our submission page. (To Note: We are currently having issues with our submission page, but it should be fixed soon. If your event is taking place before October 12, 2026, please email your event information and image to the address below.)
The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context.
All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted.
Please allow up to 5 days for your event to be posted. If you encounter difficulties submitting an event, please email amy@thelaurelofasheville.com.

It’s time for our Monstera Mash Market! 🌿🎃 Asheville’s first ever Halloween Market in a greenhouse! Plus, we’re giving away a Thai Constellation Monstera?! Say whaaat?! (See how to enter below!)
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 24, from 12–4 p.m., at Ross Farm (91 Holbrook Road in Candler) for an afternoon of FREE Fall fun among the monsteras and mums! 👻

* Highland Cows selfie booth! (They’re BACCCK!)
* Live music & yummy bites
* A spooky scavenger hunt & potting station for the kids
* Greenhouses full of Fall favs (Literally stunning mums)
* Thai Constellation Monstera GIVEAWAY!!!
HOW TO ENTER GIVEAWAY:
Enter by getting a passport card from the Appalachian Standard booth. Visit each vendor to receive a stamp and fill your card. Return your full card to the Appalachian Standard booth to be entered. Winner will be chosen at 3:30pm and must be present to receive plant. 🎉
If you’re a lover of spooky season, or just having a good time, our Monstera Mash Market will be your new Halloween tradition! Come shop local, grab a treat, and take home a new leafy friend (or a pot of mums for the porch!). Costumes are encouraged! 🧛♀️
