Poetry Primer: The Curious Practice of Paying Attention
September 16 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
$275
This full-bodied, 5-week poetry series will guide participants from “Ooof, poetry” to “Where’s my journal?!” by buoying artistic play and cultivating attention. We’ll take notice of neon color palettes, everyday coffee-shop conversation, rhythmic twitches in the body, the gruff and warm-hearted voice of life, and see what happens when we revolutionize those noticings into language. Weaving together poetic elements + form, guided discussion, and past poetic works, we’ll step into a multidisciplinary creative space! Plus, oodles (oodles!) of writing time to build confidence and craft. This class immerses itself in artful experimentation and skill building. It’s the ultimate permission slip to be a beginner or to reignite passion around well-worn skills.
