The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a month will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted. Please allow up to 5 days for your even to be posted. Modelface Comedy brings the best comedians from all over the country to Asheville, NC. This week we are excited to have Kevin Casey White from NYC!
Hailed by the Chicago Tribune as the “physical expression of an exclamation point,” Kevin Casey White’s new stand-up special, “Harangue” (800 Pound Gorilla Records), was featured in Paste Magazine, named “Lightning in a bottle” by The Comedy Bureau, and was awarded “Best Stand Up Special” at The Comedy Film Festival. This, paired with appearances on Comedy Central (Alternatino), Amazon Prime, Audible, Nerdist, and Romania’s Got Talent (yes, really) Kevin has weaseled his way into the comedy world’s good graces—earning praise from heavyweights like Will Arnett (Bojack Horseman, Arrested Development), who called his style “fair, unbiased wit” which is just a classy way of saying he makes fun of everyone.
