The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a month will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted. Please allow up to 5 days for your even to be posted. Join us at NC Stage for Random Act Productions’ “A Christmas Carol: A Play With Music” December 11th – December 21st
Experience Charles Dickens’ A CHRISTMAS CAROL the way it was intended.
From 1853 to 1870, Dickens gave public readings of his story, touring America and Great Britain — even going so far as to develop the characters and voices for his performances. A CHRISTMAS CAROL is a classic story that is meant to be heard and performed in front of audiences of all ages.
This adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL stays true to that original intention. Entirely Dickens’ text, the play is woven throughout with live music as an actor (and his trusty musician) brings all of the characters to life in vivid detail. A story of redemption and the power of the holiday spirit, it is also a celebration of the theatre, where virtuosic acting and a commitment to the power of storytelling brings us all closer together — and to the Christmas spirit in all of us.
Wednesday – Saturday: 7:30pm, Sunday: 2pm, + additional show Friday the 19th at 2pm
