The Enchanted Island of Socotra – Sufra Time at Mocha Box Coffeehouse

October 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$95

There is a place where trees bleed crimson resin, forests resemble enormous green umbrellas and landscapes look as though they were created for another planet.

That place is Socotra—Yemen’s enchanted island at the edge of the Arabian Sea.

In Socotra: The Enchanted Island, the spectacular grand finale of Sufra Time: An Immersive Arabian Dining Journey, you’ll travel to one of the most extraordinary and isolated places on Earth. Encounter the iconic dragon’s blood tree, bizarre desert roses, pristine beaches, hidden caves, towering dunes and rare species found nowhere else in the world.

Separated from mainland Arabia for millions of years, Socotra became a living laboratory of evolution—a place where isolation allowed nature to follow its own astonishing path. Yet the island’s greatest wonder may be its people, whose ancient language, oral traditions and intimate knowledge of the land have helped preserve a culture as distinctive as Socotra’s natural environment.

This final journey also reveals a profound connection between Socotra and Appalachia. Both are places of exceptional biodiversity where mountains, isolation and deep attachment to the land shaped fiercely distinctive cultures. In both, generations preserved knowledge through storytelling, depended upon close communities and understood that the natural world is not merely scenery—it is identity, inheritance and home.

Through breathtaking imagery, dramatic storytelling, Arabian food and immersive audience participation, Socotra brings the entire Sufra Time journey to an unforgettable climax.

Come experience the island of dragon’s blood and ancient legends—a lost world of impossible landscapes, astonishing life and human resilience. You may arrive believing you have seen beautiful places before. You will leave wondering how a place like Socotra can possibly be real.
