The Floating Kingdom: Mythobardic Storytelling and Song
July 19, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
$22
“An old king, with hairs of white, steps through a magical doorway to recover the pieces of the firebird — a splendid yet enigmatic being who holds the keys to his freedom – and his heart.”
Wandering bards Mica Sun and Samara Jade bring a uniquely original (and yet ancient and familiar) marriage of oral storytelling and finely crafted song in “The Floating Kingdom,” a musical and theatrical tale of reflection, journey and return.
This 90-minute, all-ages show dances between acting, storytelling, music, and voice, with reflections on freedom, grief, friendship, aging, patriarchy, the initiatory journey, and the destruction and repair of our world.
Weaving storytelling and acting with live music, puppetry, and community song, this original mythic tale for our times is guaranteed to delight and entertain, entrancing the fabulous mind while stirring the waters of the heart and soul.
