The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a month will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted. Please allow up to 5 days for your even to be posted. If you encounter difficulties submitting an event, please email [email protected].

Educator’s Night Out: free admission for K–12 and college educators, administrators, and teaching artists (with valid ID)
In addition to our regular Third Thursday programming, this month we invite K–12 and college educators, administrators, and teaching artists to join us for our Spring Educator’s Night Out. View the Museum’s current exhibitions, enjoy music, create art in the Studio, learn about our many tour offerings and opportunities to work with the Museum, and take time to socialize.

The Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestra program serves more than 200 of the very best young musicians in the greater Asheville area. The program consists of two string orchestras, two symphony orchestras, a percussion ensemble, a flute choir, a jazz combo, and numerous wind and string chamber ensembles. Students participate in masterclasses, retreats, workshops, tours and social events. They also receive high-quality music instruction from the region’s most respected professional conductors and musicians and have the opportunity to perform throughout the community. Most importantly, students involved in ASYO gain a strong sense of discipline, increased confidence, and a deep appreciation for music and the arts.
