The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a month will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted. Please allow up to 5 days for your even to be posted. Weaverville Foundation Charity Golf Tournament

Registration is now open for the Weaverville Foundation’s inaugural charity scramble golf tournament, September 11, 2026, at the beautiful Reems Creek Golf Club in Weaverville NC.
As a nonprofit organization, the Foundation encourages and funds smart growth to help protect Weaverville’s local character, small business vibrancy and open space. All donations, exclusive of registration fees, are tax deductible and help support this important mission, including recognizing the invaluable contributions of our heroic first responders. For our debut event, we’re proud to announce that all net proceeds will go directly toward helping fund critical needs of our police force and fire department, along with future community investment projects.
Capacity is limited to 80 players, so register now!!
* Fees: $125 per person, or $500 per foursome
* Features: continental breakfast, buffet lunch
* Includes: prizes for longest drive, hole-in-one and closest to the pin.
Check-in starts at 7:30 am, followed by a 9/11 commemoration and shotgun start at 8:30 am. Entries will be accepted until the bracket is full and tiered and hole sponsorships are also available. Tournament play is rain-or-shine unless otherwise noted.
