The Trauma Intervention Program of Western North Carolina (TIP of WNC) is now recruiting new volunteers to serve in Buncombe and Henderson Counties.
TIP of WNC is a group of specially trained volunteers who provide immediate emotional and practical support and resources to survivors of traumatic events. TIP Volunteers are called by law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel to respond to scenes of sudden or unexpected death (natural, homicide, suicide, accidental, infant), industrial accidents, sexual assaults, overdoses, violent crime, and other traumatic incidents.
Tip of WNC volunteers must attend continuing education meetings held on the third Monday of each month, as well as meet other basic requirements. There is a $45 registration fee to confirm a spot in the class.
