A Billy Jonas Band Family Music Show

Billy Jonas Family Music Show

Get Ready to Have Fun with Billy Jonas Band on July 24

On Sunday, July 24, at 3 p.m., Billy Jonas Band will bring their creative, interactive, and soul-inspiring family show to The White Horse Black Mountain, at 105 Montreat Road. The band creates a collaborative, funky folk musical experience featuring original voice and percussion based songs. There’s also a generous dose of audience participation.

“We’re just back from tours to Michigan, Texas, and California,” says guitarist, vocalist, and percussionist Billy Jonas. “We’ve loved spreading musical joy from coast to coast and are happy to be bringing it home to share with our community.” Billy is joined by Ashley Jo Farmer (vocal, percussion), Sherman Hoover (bass, marimba, percussion, vocals), and Juan Hollada (vocal percussion).

The band combines conventional instruments (guitar, bass, marimba) with homemade creations (using buckets and barrels, keys and cans, bells and body percussion). In the concert, they’ll feature songs from their most recent family album, Build it Back Again. WUNC’s The State of Things, says, “Audiences routinely clap their hands and stomp their feet to add to the sound. And the band members are masters of re-percussion, using recycled materials like milk jugs or buckets to create unique beats and sounds.”

Tickets are $12 the door, $10 in advance, and $8 for groups of four or more. Kids under two years old are admitted free. For more information, visit billyjonas.com.
