Celebrate Independence Day in Downtown Waynesville
Spend July 4th in downtown Waynesville at the “Stars & Stripes Celebration” along Main Street from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a variety of free entertainment and music for people of all ages.
At 11 a.m. the Kids on Main Children’s Patriotic parade will kick off the day’s events. The route will take participants up Main Street to First Baptist Church, where there will be free ice cream waiting for those under 17. Registration begins at the courthouse at 10 a.m.
Dressed in patriotic garb, participants are encouraged to decorate their bicycles, tricycles, scooters, strollers, and wagons.
The Haywood Community Band will perform their annual patriotic concert on the lawn of the courthouse at 2 p.m. Be sure to stop in downtown’s charming shops and galleries, and dine at one of the wonderful restaurants. For more information, visit downtownwaynesville.com.
