Nashville-based writer, musician, and performer Daniel Pujol will travel to Asheville with his band, PUJOL, for a special evening of music and discussion on Saturday, June 4. The event begins at 7 P.M. and takes place by the river at Ole Shakey’s, 790 Riverside Drive. Tickets are $5 at the door.

PUJOL has produced a collection of 7” singles, EPs, and albums, of which his latest is Kludge (2014). Russell Bates, of Sound it Out, calls it “stripped-down, high-energy garage rock with artful lyrics and a wry sensibility.” Sobotka Literary Magazine wrote, “Nashville artist Daniel Pujol has built a reputation for engaging classic issues and contemporary ideas in a thoughtful, nuanced way rarely seen in rock ‘n’ roll.”

This event continues the inaugural season of Free Range Asheville, an organization cofounded by Jeff Arnal and Estelle Woodward Arnal to provide a platform for research and discourse and for artists to engage and collaborate. The evening will begin with a conversation with Daniel about his process and influences, followed by a performance by PUJOL. For more information, visit freerangeavl.org.
