Asheville Lyric Opera in the Park

Bring the Whole Family to ALO’s “Singing in the Park”

Showcasing the talents of participants in Asheville Lyric Opera’s (ALO) Young Artist Program, “Singing in the Park” will take place on Sunday, July 10, from 5–8 p.m. in Pack Square Park in downtown Asheville. Back by popular demand, the picnic and concert is free and open to the public. Enjoy opera scenes performed by these talented young people on the Park lawn.

To make the evening even more fun, a picnic competition will be held. Winners will be selected based on creativity, design, and overall presentation of their picnic. The food setup and decorations should reflect the themes of Man of La Mancha, which ALO will produce at Diana Wortham Theatre July 15–17. The grand prize winner will receive two free tickets to a performance.

“Singing in the Park” concerts are ALO’s way of giving back to the Asheville community and supporting community engagement with the Asheville Opera. For more information, visit ashevillelyric.org.
