Chris Brock had a simple mission when he founded Brock Builders: deliver each client’s dream home in a timely and professional manner. Building a custom home can be an exciting and enjoyable process, but the sheer volume of decisions to be made can quickly become overwhelming without proper guidance—guidance that Brock Builders offers in a curated, digestible way.

“Early in the building process we provide clients with a master schedule of all upcoming selections and decisions,” says Brock. “We track and record these over the course of each job through a secure web-based software which we also use for budgeting, documenting progress, scheduling and communication. We also place a large emphasis on cultivating close relationships with local design professionals and our preferred vendors to aid as resources for our clients in the various and sometimes overwhelming decisions and selections phases.”

Brock’s background as a certified public accountant means that he brings a unique level of organization and logistical management to the custom home-building process. In addition to supporting clients in the decision-making process, Brock Builders uses specialized software and specific daily protocols to maintain fast, convenient communication with clients and vendors. Clients like Kathy Snell, whose Hendersonville home is a recent Brock Builders project, deeply appreciated the attention to detail and thorough communication provided by the company. While Snell’s husband has some experience in commercial building, she sought a builder that, first and foremost, would put her at ease.

“I was freaked out about the whole process,” she says. “I was very adamant about making sure that I had someone that was approachable so I could ask questions without feeling like they were dumb.”

Furthermore, the Snells were based in Atlanta while their home was being built in Hendersonville, so communication was of the utmost importance. “They totally fit that bill,” says Snell about Brock Builders. “They were very active in seeing our vision and then improving upon that vision to make it even better than what we thought it would be.”

Brock Builders approaches each custom home project individually, and the company’s team brings specific skill sets to the table to realize their client’s vision. “I really enjoy custom home building because it is a science as much as it is residential construction,” Brock says. “Our industry is constantly evolving, and the homes being designed for our clients are both unique and complex. Multiple construction stages overlap and are dependent on strong communication and constant follow-through to ensure success.”
