Fundraiser for Eliada Home Family Care Facility

Eliada Event Takes Flight to Help At-Risk Children Succeed

Eliada Home, a family-oriented residential care facility, has been providing support for Western North Carolina children and families in crisis since 1903. On Saturday, November 5, at 6 p.m., Eliada’s very first Signature Event will take place at the Signature Flight Support Hangar at 40 Lindbergh Lane in Fletcher. Break out your aviator glasses and flight helmets, because this imaginative fundraiser will present the theme “Going the Distance for Eliada Kids” with a focus on air and destination travel.

The Signature Event, presented by Blossman Gas of Asheville, promises to be an entertaining evening of hors d’oeuvres, drinks, a silent and live auction, and a seated dinner prepared by celebrated Asheville chefs. Money raised at the event will help fund Eliada’s many programs, including foster care, day treatment, animal-assisted therapy, work force training for young adults, early childhood development and afterschool programs.

Eliada’s vision is to provide an optimal learning environment that empowers children and their families to succeed. The Signature Event will allow the nonprofit to continue to realize this vision and enhance the therapeutic programs they offer to more than 600 children each year. “We believe that every child deserves the chance to see their dreams take flight,” says Eliada event coordinator, Lucy Murphy.

Among the many businesses donating to the event’s auction are The Omni Grove Park Inn, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, UNCA Athletics, and Asheville Walking Food Tours. “We will have auction items ranging from, but not limited to, vacations, season passes, spa retreats, specialty tours, and even…a puppy!” says Murphy.

Tickets to Eliada Home’s Signature Event are $100 per person. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit eliada.org/events-and-sponsorship.
