The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a month will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted. Please allow up to 5 days for your even to be posted. Join us for a special evening of literature and dance with Orison Books author Amit Majmudar in a collaborative performance with his wife, classical Indian dancer Ami Buch Majmudar, to celebrate Orison Books’ 10th anniversary!
Amit Majmudar’s new book Three Metamorphoses retells, in its third and climactic section, ancient Indian tales of transformation in constantly shifting verse forms. Come witness these mythological stories come to life onstage through the linguistic dance of poetry and the physical poetry of dance!
Three Metamorphoses will be available for purchase. Attendees will also have their choice of any two complimentary Orison Books titles. Concessions will be available.
This is an opportunity to support independent publishing and to help Orison Books continue publishing spiritually engaged literature from a broad and inclusive range of perspectives for the next 10 years and beyond!
