Asheville Salt Cave will celebrate its 10-year anniversary with a mini wellness retreat on Thursday, September 22, from 3–7 p.m. The experience includes 15 minutes of table massage, a 15-minute immersive salt cave session and a 15-minute herbal foot soak in the hammam.

“Taking time to ground in and care for yourself, in a world that keeps us so distracted and detached, makes the drive to continue to hold these spaces even more important,” says owner Jodie Appel. “I am so grateful we took the chance 10 years ago to create a container to hold space for folks to come and heal. I never thought that people would need it as much as we do today.”

Asheville Salt Cave was located downtown for five years before moving to its larger space on Liberty Street. The expansion allowed for the addition of a hammam bath house, gardens and community spaces for hosting events like yoga, tea ceremonies and book signings. “This location feels like a representation of Jodie’s and my strengths and powers combined, along with all the others who added ideas and input along the way—and there were many,” says general manager Laurel Thompson. “It is definitely the biggest, most exciting thing I have ever been a part of. It has grown into a magical space where people can come and find a variety of wellness experiences for a variety of budgets.”

Tickets for the mini wellness retreat are $48 per person, gratuity not included, and include a swag bag with coupons for future visits. Visitors should plan to be at the Salt Cave for an hour to enjoy the retreat. Space is limited, so visit the website to reserve your spot.
