Western North Carolina AIDS Project (WNCAP) presents its annual fundraiser Dining Out for Life® on Thursday, April 27. When dining out for breakfast, lunch or dinner at a participating restaurant, patrons are given the opportunity to donate to WNCAP’s programs that support HIV prevention, education and care in our region.

Laura Yakima is the office manager for 828 Pizzeria, which has participated in Dining Out for Life for many years. “WNCAP saves lives and provides physical and emotional support to our brothers and sisters,” she says. “We love seeing our neighborhood and beyond coming together to raise money for WNCAP’s life-saving work, all while sharing laughs and good food. It doesn’t get easier to do good and show love for your neighbors.”

Dining Out for Life is presented by Prestige Subaru and organized in collaboration with the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association (AIR). The money raised will help provide care coordination, rental assistance, prevention, education, overdose reversal kits and more.

“WNCAP has been my support for over a quarter of my life,” says WNCAP client Donna. “They helped pay for my glasses so I could see. When I had electricity problems, they helped, and when I had insufficient food, they brought food every week. When I needed to talk, I always had a case manager that I could get in touch with. For 29 years, WNCAP has always been there for me.”
