For Katie Bickert, the vintage lifestyle has always been a passion. Recently moving to Asheville from New York City, she opened Rock Doll Vintage (named after her dog Rocky) last November with her mom and business partner, Annie Brown.
“We put love into hand picking, cleaning, and repairing every item that goes into our store,” says Katie. “Whether it’s vintage clothing, housewares, or accessories, to know the story of where each piece came from and see those items find a great new home is so satisfying.”
Annie and Katie say they have always been great travel partners. The store gives them the opportunity to go on mother-daughter excursions throughout the US. “We get to make a lot of great memories together while we hunt for unique old treasures to bring back to the store,” says Katie. “There is no better way to show off your own individual style and recycle/repurpose than buying vintage.”
Rock Doll carries new retro-inspired clothing for those preferring a more modern fit. Pin-up parties and vintage makeovers are planned for the near future.
