Gina Trippi, co-owner of Quench! Wine Bistro and MetroWines, moved to Asheville from Washington, DC, planning to retire. Instead, she and her husband turned their passion for wine into MetroWines before a fantasy football conversation with longtime friend and chef Sam Etheridge inspired the pair to open Quench!.
Trippi credits Etheridge’s award-winning culinary talents for the restaurant’s success and is excited about the upcoming Wine Pairing Dinners exploring the world. These dinners have become so popular that reservations are required. Wednesday Wine Tastings, free and open to the public, also draw wine enthusiasts, many of whom reserve a table for dinner afterwards.
“Our goal was to bring downtown food and wine to Woodfin with free parking,” Trippi says. “Quench! is the kind of place where you come to be a friend and to make a friend over a glass of wine paired perfectly by our staff over an amazing dish.”
