Asheville Chamber Music Series: American String Quartet in Concert

Asheville Chamber Music SeriesThe Asheville Chamber Music Series (ACMS) is presenting a concert by the American String Quartet at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 4, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 1 Edwin Place in Asheville. They will perform music by Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven.
“The American String Quartet is the third concert in what has been yet another outstanding season…,” says Polly Feitzinger, ACMS president. “Guest artists continue to praise the enthusiasm of our audiences and the beauty of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Asheville as a setting to hear chamber music.”
Recognized as one of the world’s foremost quartets, the American String Quartet is celebrating its 40th season. The Quartet is known for its performances of the complete quartets of Beethoven, Schubert, Schoenberg, Bartok, and Mozart. The group’s recordings of Mozart’s quartets for strings (performed on a matched set of Stradivarius instruments) set the standard for this repertoire.
ACMS is one of the nation’s oldest continuing performing chamber music organizations. It has been recognized not only for its outstanding programs, but also for its education component through a collaboration with the strings program of the Asheville Buncombe Schools and our other cultural partners in the community, including the Asheville Young Musicians Club.

Tickets ($38 per person) can be purchased online at ashevillechambermusic.org or by calling Nathan Shirley at 828.575.7427.
